General Server Information
Where is the server based?
It is located in Dallas, TX.
You’re an English speaking server. I’m still learning English, is that okay?
If you’re reading this, you should be fine! Of course, our staff are for the most part fluent in English only, so you should be fairly confident in conversation.
Where do your players come from?
We regularly welcome players worldwide, although our main audience is based in Europe and the UK, with the second largest majority coming from North America. Obviously, your experience on our server will be affected both positively and negatively by your location, but fear not – we have a small group of loyal players from Australia who play without problems!
How is the server paid for?
Our server relies entirely on donations to run – we have no commercial sponsors, nor do we plaster our website with advertisements! If you would like to help support us, check out the VIP page.
What hardware do you run on?
Ultimate Minecraft is backed up by a powerful Ivy Bridge Intel Xeon E3 processor, 16GB of RAM and RAID 1 SSDs and HDDs, running Linux. All of that is hooked up to you by a 1Gbit internet connection in a professional datacentre, to give our community the best experience we possibly can.
New Players
Do I have to pay to play?
No, not at all! While we do very much appreciate donations, we ask nothing from our players other than they follow our rules and enjoy themselves.
Where can I build?
If you are new, you can build in our dedicated guest world, just follow the red wool from spawn. If you are a member, you can build anywhere in the member world that isn’t protected.
How do I make a warp?
We don’t have a warp command – rather we have multiple homes that essentially work in exactly the same way. You can type /home help for information on creating a warp. The command to set your default home is /home set, with /home to warp to that location.
What is Ultima?
Ultima is the name of our virtual in-game currency. You can use it to trade with other players using special commands and mechanics such as auctions and chest shops.
How do I earn Ultima?
Sell things to people, or sell your gold to the bank! The gold price fluctuates depending on supply and demand, so you may get more or less gold per ingot depending on when you decide to sell. The bank is opened by GMs or Admins when they are free, and is announced in chat.
How do I sell my items?
Join the channel /ch t and ask if anyone would like to buy your items. Alternatively, you can auction them, or start a shop.
How do I auction my items?
You can type /auction help for more information. The command for starting an auction is /auction start <time> <item> <amount> <starting price>. To bid, type /auction bid <amount>
How do I make a chest shop?
Try asking in chat, or alternatively, there are examples at spawn which you can learn from.
How do I send people money/see how much money I have?
- /money pay (playername) (amount)
- /money
Can I sell anything else to the bank?
No. The bank only accept gold-ingots (or gold blocks).
How do I make a sign!?

How can I protect my house from griefers and thieves?
Use the command /modreq (reason), with the reason being protection, and a moderator will come help as soon as possible. You may also use our chest protection plugin, LWC, to lock blocks such as chests, furnaces and doors. The simplest lock is the private lock, which you can create by typing /cprivate.
Are my chests safe from stealing?
If you protect it using LWC, they will be safe and only you and people you choose are able to open or destroy it. The syntax is /cprivate (name) (name) – and then left click on the chest. Other names are only necessary if you want others to have access to your chest. The chest will now be locked. /lwc for advanced options
How can I add players to my protections/how can I see who is on my protections?
On protections that you are the owner of, you can use the command /region addmember (protection name) (player)
To get information about a protection, use the command /region info (protection name)
Where can I find the data values of a block/item?
You can find them Here. Or alternatively, use the command /search (item) in game
Why do some people have [IRC] in front of their name when they talk?
It means that they typed that while they were on IRC (internet relay chat). You can access it via here.
What do I do if somebody is griefing my house and there are no mods on?
Remember the person’s name who was griefing, and take some screenshots as evidence if possible. Then show a mod or admin as soon as possible, and action will be taken. If you’d prefer, you can use the Courthouse section of our forums to report the incident.
Can I use flymod/xray/speed hack?
No, doing so will result in a ban.
What modifications can I use?
Allowed modifications include TooManyItems, Improved Chat, ConvenientInventory and Zan’s Minimap. Basically, if the modification doesn’t give you an advantage over another player, and doesn’t threaten the server or other players, then it should be okay. If in doubt, ask a staff member in game.
Can I spawn items?
No. There is an application process for receiving items that have been donated by other players on our forums, but this is by no means a guarentee. There are strict rules and guidelines on why you can receive these items, and you very well may be denied. It is preferable that you gather items yourself. You may also attempt to gain the rank of Architect – more details are available in the ranks section below.
Staff & Administration
Who founded the server?
The server was founded by the players ks07 and andypandy89 back in October 2010. We also have a third administrator, ryanclancy000, who is a long time player that has risen through the ranks from guest to admin, who helps run a large part of the server.
Where can I find out about the various ranks?
Please read our server ranks page.
Is there a list of current staff members?
Yes! You can see the list here, ordered by rank. Please note that this list is not automatically generated, so it may be slightly outdated.
If I spam the chat with not-so-subtle hints saying I would like to be a mod/GM/admin/OP will I become one?
No.
So how do I become a staff member?
This information, with a few pointers, is available on the server ranks page.
