Farewell!
Hello all members of UMC!
Some of you may already know this, but two of our long standing moderators have parted ways with us to go on to new adventures. Firstly, on behalf of all the Admin team I’d like to thank Murreey and Iadieu for all of their hard work during their time as UMC staff members. Both of these individuals have proven that the staff team have a strong devotion and sense of responsibility over our server and we can not thank you enough for your voluntary effort in keeping the server in a state in which we advertise it to be in. Without people like Iadieu and Murreey the server wouldn’t be half as enjoyable as it is today.
Sadly, we must all say goodbye at some time or another. Today we say farewell to two valued moderators, I truly give you both the best of luck on behalf of all UMC players!

Update on the Update
Howdy all.
As you probably know, we’re still awaiting a stable bukkit update to be rolled out before upgrading UMC to 1.5.1. You can follow the progress of the bukkit devs here and their announcements here. As soon as something not labeled ‘Development Build’ starts showing up we can set about upgrading the server to the latest version.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
We’ve had quite a few questions roll in during this 1.4.7 to 1.5 update phase. I’ll try to answer the most frequent ones as best I can.
When will the server update to 1.5?
- See above. Once a stable build is released (ie: not a dev build) we can start seriously digging into the update and our plugins.
Will the Nether be reset?
- Most likely.
When will the server update to 1.5?
- . . . . see above.
Why hasn’t the server updated yet? There are other servers out there running 1.5!
- Each server is unique, and has different views on what are tolerable bugs and glitches. UMC has always taken the standpoint of fairness and stability for everyone. Meaning: if it can be glitched, or if it can cause harm, or if it opens the doorway for either . . . then it’s not tolerable.
- We also like to have the server stable so that we can avoid crashing and gameplay interruptions as seen with past plugins that weren’t fully debugged.
So when will the server update to 1.5?

I upgraded already and can’t connect to UMC!!

Minecraft Update is Here!
Howdy All!
Minecraft v 1.5 is OUT! However, as with many past updates, if you update your client you will not have access to UMC. We will be updating the server as soon as bukkit releases a stable build. This may be a few days, or a few weeks/months. It’s not entirely up to us, so please be patient.
If you wish to play around with the new update, be sure to backup your bin folder or jar files.
Also it might be a good idea to remove any valuables you have in the nether. As this release has quite a few upgrades to the nether, a reset is likely.
Don’t be strangers during this transition phase. We still want to see your smiling faces!

Mojam 2013
Mojam is back once more! What is Mojam I hear you ask? Over the next 3 days, the guys at Mojang, along with their partners, will be creating 6 entirely new games from scratch based on ideas from the community. The Mojam is hosted by the Humble Bundle, but as with the previous Mojam, all the money raised goes directly to charity. Pay whatever you feel is right, get access to the mystery games as they’re made, help out people in need, and enjoy 3 days of livestream madness!

Weekly News Salad #1
I noticed that we hadn’t put up a news salad for you guys in a while, and since it’s 2013 I figured it’d be time to reset the counter!
First off, we’ve hosted our very first “Free VIP”-weekend this weekend and it has been great. A lot of people have been on to enjoy free VIP-perks, and all in all this is definitively something we should do more often. If you’re sad that your perks have been taken away, you can always donate to the server and get them back. And even better; if you choose to do so this week you’ll get an extra 15 days of VIP-awesomeness.
Unfortunately our “admine”, ryanclancy000 left us with sad news, he has decided to retire from the Minecraft server-business to focus on his real-life. Thanks for being a great administrator, it has been an honor serving with you! Whatever you set your mind to, we know you’ll do great and wish you best of luck, and hopefully you’ll drop by to visit us regularly and perhaps even make a return someday?
As always, I’ve saved the best part for last. Some of you guys might’ve heard already (or seen, if you have been in-game) but I’d like to welcome our newest addition to the staff team, TheDinosaur_xox, to the team! Please give her a warm welcome!
