Weekly News Salad #3
This week has brought some major changes, so read up!
As some off you may know, we have changed hosts, and thus upgraded the server. We hope that this we greatly reduce our lag, and we will have no more network issues!
Keeping on the topic of performance, we have removed MagicCarpet. After reviewing the plugin and the timings that it gave Bukkit, we have decided that it was too heavy for the small perk it gave us. Not to remove perks from VIPs, we have given them access to the Flight plugin. This is not only lighter on the server, but a bit more fun!
The commands are as follows:
- /flight on – Turn on flight.
- /flight off – Turn off flight.
- /flight toggle – Toggle flight.

Great update Ryan, I’m looking forward to testing the new server ;D also including flight for VIPs will be fun.
Yeah it can be new for ppl but especially in nether magic carpet was useful to prevent glowies falling into the lava. But yet the reason is way more important.
Other then that good update ryan.
Shouldn’t really be a problem, you can always stand directly under it or construct a temp platform to catch the glowstone :p
magic carpet was nice but if you think about it was kind of cheap as well. On mumble there was some talk about it and i have to agree with what people where saying. VIPS WHERE GETTING ALL THE GLOWSTONE. so now you have to be clever with getting it
Well yeah that’s a problem but the thing is this that If VIPs don’t have so many privileges than they wouldn’t buy it. But yeah that’s an unfair situation. But I shouldn’t be talking about unfair situations as I now have a big depth on people playing UMC for (even that I got what was going on a bit late) taking an unfair advantage to them. D:
Nice one, flight for vips is sweet but mc was dead useful for building
You can still use /tp up, if you want a platform.
