Welcome!
Ultimate Minecraft is a medium sized yet busy freebuild minecraft community. We run the awesome bukkit server mod with a large list of plugins that provide us with area ownership, economy and anti-grief, as well as new commands and features. We also have a team of active moderators and admins, who are in game regurlarly to assist. We offer gameplay that is a mix of vanilla Minecraft survival with traditional SMP freebuild mechanics. We do offer a minimal PVP experience by way of designated map areas, although for the most part Ultimate Minecraft is non-pvp. More detail about our server can be found on our info page here.
Our server is currently greylisted. This means that new players are restricted to building in a seperate world for visitors imaginatively called “The Guest World”. Play for a while, and if you like the server then apply using the link to the top right to be promoted to member and get access to the entire world! In the unlikely event you find yourself not enjoying Ultimate Minecraft, you haven’t wasted any time signing up for a whitelist. It’s the best of both worlds, while keeping quick and efficient for all involved.

Run For The Hills!
That’s right, I’ve decided to make a little comeback to the server. There is a small change though, I’ve started to use an alternate username on various websites as to not reveal my entire name, so my in-game name will now be “rylinaux” – this will probably be confusing to many people at first so feel free to let other people know instead of having them freak out when they see someone they’ve never seen before as an admin.

Hello all members of UMC!
Some of you may already know this, but two of our long standing moderators have parted ways with us to go on to new adventures. Firstly, on behalf of all the Admin team I’d like to thank Murreey and Iadieu for all of their hard work during their time as UMC staff members. Both of these individuals have proven that the staff team have a strong devotion and sense of responsibility over our server and we can not thank you enough for your voluntary effort in keeping the server in a state in which we advertise it to be in. Without people like Iadieu and Murreey the server wouldn’t be half as enjoyable as it is today.
Sadly, we must all say goodbye at some time or another. Today we say farewell to two valued moderators, I truly give you both the best of luck on behalf of all UMC players!

Howdy UMC,
Mojang has released 1.5.2 today. This version does require a Bukkit upgrade, and the Bukkit dev team is already working on it. Until such time as a stable Bukkit build is released, be warned that you will not be able to join UMC if you update your client.

Bank Mayhem 2013
Today saw an act of unbelievable, albeit sanctioned destruction in spawn. There were fireworks, spiderweb parties, and prizes for the most destructive players in a free-for-all bank demo. That’s right, the dismantling of the bank was the main event of the evening, an event that saw the entire range of human emotion on display. Chaoskills93′s cries of triumph and joy as he won the ‘Most Destructive’ award by clearing away 1,313 blocks of the old Bank building. ks07′s cries of anguish as he had to struggle against his miserly tendancies and hand over gold blocks to the first, second, and third place block removal winners.

The destruction was both impressive and frightening.
At the end of the day, the entire event served three purposes. 1) It allowed many of our more grief-prone members to scratch the itch without us having to ban them for forever. 2. It was a fun community project/contest with prizes and luls. 3. It paved the way for the new bank:

Waistband Stretching Exercises?
“Woe is me, for I am short of space on which to build!” I hear you cry. Well cry no more, as the main world borders have now been extended by a massive 1000 blocks in all directions! This has revealed a plethora of new remote islands to the north and west of the map, so any of you with dreams of a sunny private villa or perhaps a secluded secret island lair now have plenty of places to choose from. As for those of us who prefer to keep both of our feet planted firmly on solid ground, there’s new territory to explore on the south and east borders, ready for invasion by an army of block-y Steves.
